Charles E. Harris, Jr., Vice President and Principal Counsel, Litigation and Claims, Bechtel Corporation, is responsible for managing Bechtel's construction litigation and arbitration, for preparing, presenting, and negotiating claims, and for advising project teams and executive leadership on claims and claims avoidance. Chuck has over 20 years experience in construction contracts, claims, and litigation. Prior to joining Bechtel in 1999, Chuck practiced with the law firm of Pepper Hamilton in its Construction Litigation Practice Group. Chuck's claims experience includes complex cost and scheduling issues on projects involving power plants, telecommunications systems, heavy civil construction, water treatment facilities and government installations. Chuck received his J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review, and his B.S. Civil Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
