Matthew W. Argue has over 25 years of experience in complex construction disputes, mediation and arbitration. Based in San Diego, he is a full-time neutral focusing on construction, insurance and real estate mediation and arbitration throughout Southern California. Mr. Argue has successfully mediated over 400 construction cases to settlement and arbitrated several hundred cases for the California Contractor's State License Board. Mr. Argue serves on the following mediation and arbitration panels: AMCC Panel of Construction Mediators; American Arbitration Association Panel of Complex Construction Mediators and Arbitrators; and California Contractor's State License Board Arbitrator. Mr. Argue also serves as a Dispute Resolution Advisor and Dispute Resolution Board member for Caltrans. Mr. Argue regularly lectures and writes on mediation and construction law issues. Most recently, he has published articles in the American Arbitration Association's Dispute Resolution Journal entitled Emotional Intelligence in Mediation: When IQ is Not Enough! and American Inns of Court's The Bencher Magazine entitled Work and Life Balance after Two Types of Cancer, and is a frequent speaker on construction topics including West Coast Casualty's Construction Defect Seminar in Anaheim, California, MC Consultant's Construction Defect Conference in San Diego, CA, HB Litigation Construction Forum in Century City, California, Vendome's Construction Super Conference in San Francisco and San Diego, California, and to the San Diego and Orange County bar associations. Mr. Argue received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California Law Center in 1989, and graduated cum laude from San Diego State University in 1986. Mr. Argue is licensed in a number of different jurisdictions including California, Nevada, Washington, Colorado and Texas.
