Sherrill Norman was appointed as the fifth Auditor General for the State of Florida in July 2015. Prior to her appointment, Sherrill spent more than two decades working for the Office of the Auditor General in a variety of auditing and management positions, ranging from public accounts auditor to Deputy Auditor General of the State Government Audits Division. Her audit experience includes financial statement audits, audits of Federal awards programs, audits of various management and operational topics, and quality assurance reviews. Sherrill received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Florida State University and has been a licensed certified public accountant in Florida since 1992. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers, and Treasurers, National State Auditors Association, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Government Accountants. Currently, Sherrill is the Vice Chair of the National State Auditors Association’s Single Audit Committee and she recently co chaired the Association of Government Accountant’s 2018 Professional Development Training Technical Committee. Sherrill is a native Floridian, and she and her husband reside in Tallahassee.
