Texas Education Agency

Dr. Hancock is the associate commissioner in the Office for Grants and Federal Fiscal Compliance at the Texas Education Agency. Her office is responsible for administering all discretionary and formula grants that are awarded through the agency, ensuring the agency’s compliance with the fiscal requirements of federal grants, and conducting monitoring and grant reviews of federal grant subrecipients. She has been with the agency since January of 2001, and has held leadership positions in the areas of strategic planning, grants, and evaluation and education of special populations. Dr. Hancock was a speech pathologist in a rehabilitation clinic for two years before she began her rewarding work as an English resource teacher and speech-language pathologist in Texas public schools.
