Aaron Dean is an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering major at Michigan Technological University, located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He spends most of his extra-curricular time supporting the Railroad Engineering & Activities Club (REAC); the AREMA Student Chapter at Michigan Tech. Aside from other officer positions held within the club, Aaron was recently elected as the club President for the 2016-17 school year. Through his connections and active participation with REAC, in spring 2015 he was hired as an undergraduate research and administrative assistant for the Michigan Tech Rail Transportation Program (RTP). Through this position, Aaron has contributed to the RTP with such tasks from graphic design for advertising, assisting graduate students with thesis projects, to developing data reduction algorithms for their naturalistic driving study grade crossing research.
