Hayley Gleason, MSW, MS, is the Assistant Director of the Home Care Aide Council, a non-profit trade association for home care agencies throughout Massachusetts, where she oversees the grant efforts of the organization, as well as manages curriculum development, training and program evaluation. She also contributes to the organization’s advocacy work; pushing for policy and regulatory changes at the state level that benefit the home care aide workforce. Hayley also served as the Project Director for the Age-Friendly Boston Initiative for the Center for Social and Demographic Research on Aging within the Gerontology Institute at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Prior to this role she worked as a researcher at the Center participating in Community Needs Assessments, assisting cities and towns throughout Massachusetts to plan for the aging of their local population. Hayley received her Master in Social Work from the University of Michigan where she was a McGregor Fellow in Geriatric Social Work and completed her MS in Gerontology at UMass Boston. Hayley is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Gerontology at UMass Boston where her research focuses on the recruitment, retention, training and supervision of the home care aide workforce.
