Ozge Akyildiz

doctoral student at ITU, Mining Engineering Department


Ozge Akyildiz was born in Istanbul, Turkey. After years of education and training she graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Mining Engineering Department in 2012. ˜She worked as an intern at ?Etimine Works General Management, Bigadi? Boron Works? Bal?kesir and ?Bituminous Coal Corporation- Armut?uk Underground Coal Mine? Zonguldak in summer of 2011 and 2012. Her senior design project is a survey on mechanical properties of marbles which is applied polyurethane (in cooperation with BASF the chemical company). Immediately after graduation, she started her master degree at the same university and department. In 2015 January, she was accepted as a research assistant at Mining Engineering Department, at ITU. Her master thesis is about investigation of blast fragmentation models in sandstone quarries. She observed a lot of drill and blast operations in 3 quarries. ?zge attended a few national and international symposiums, conferences and short courses as speaker and audience. Now, she is a doctoral student at ITU, Mining Engineering Department and wants to become specialized in drill-blast and rock mechanics in the coming years.
