Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)


Ben York leads strategic projects related to the distributed energy resources at EPRI, focusing on systems integration and interconnection issues. Having helped develop EPRI’s Integrated Grid concept, Ben also guides ongoing research and technical discussion around inverter behavior, power quality, and distribution system grounding. Before joining EPRI in 2013, Ben was a Research Assistant at Virginia Tech’s Future Energy Electronics Center. Ben received a B.S. (2008) degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama, as well as M.S. (2010) and Ph.D. (2013) degrees in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech.
