Nick Elam
Founder/Coordinator, M-SportsFans SIG

Elam currently serves as Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Ball State University, Founder/Coordinator of M-SportsFans SIG, and grounds crew member for the Cincinnati Reds. He is the originator of the hybrid duration format for basketball, which eliminates the game clock from the late stages of games as a way to preserve a natural style of play. In 2017, The Basketball Tournament renamed the format the Elam Ending and implemented it successfully during preliminary round play. Elam's research and writing have been shared at various websites and podcasts and at the 2018 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.
