Kinney Bacon is a 38-year veteran of the cable industry and is currently a Principal Engineer with Cox Communications in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been at Cox since 2011 and is in the Premise Engineering group, which is responsible for devices within the residential and business premises. Kinney has been a contributor to OpenCable, DCAS, SCTE DVS, the ATIS IPTV committee, and most recently, as chairman of the SCTE IoT Working Group. His experience includes embedded firmware, ASIC design, client architecture, system architecture, and cybersecurity. Kinney has an Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and is a Professional Engineer. He recently completed the Cybersecurity Professional Education program at Georgia Tech. Kinney has over 31 patents issued and/or pending.
