Smith’s background is in investment banking, where he spent 16 years working globally, including serving as managing director for Credit Suisse First Boston in London. Now, pet nutrition is Smith’s passion, which has led him to develop a new company focused on the export of freeze-dried pet food from New Zealand. His previous company enjoyed phenomenal growth that saw its brand ranked in “Deloitte’s Fast 50” for three consecutive years. Smith regularly presents to food industry leaders and entrepreneur groups in New Zealand, as well as to pet industry audiences such as the annual Pet Barn conference in Australia.
