Carmen West, CEO and Founder of ESS, a small business consulting firm, has been a strong advocate and expert in assessing and increasing capabilities of minority owned firms. West has matched minority owned firms with several hundred million dollars in public/private procurement contracts and financing. West’s leadership has resulted in the appointment of several executive roles including Deputy of Director of Development for the City of Canton by Mayor, William J. Healy, II where West helped to create of over $100 million in economic development, The Ohio Minority Business Advisory Council, appointed by Governor, Ted Strickland, served as vice chair and The Ohio Minority Business Executive committee to advise Governor, John Kasich on statewide minority inclusion strategies that will ultimately lead to reaching the states spend goal of $1.72 Billion with minority owned firms. West, currently serves on the Access to Capital Team, a national think tank, transactional, financial advisory team for the U.S. Department of Commerce, MBDA. West holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and certifications in mergers and acquisitions.
