Baraka Ondiek is the Continuous Improvement Officer at the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), DC. As a leader within the Executive Office his key focus is to accelerate the adoption of change within the OCFO by supporting the full implementation of a process improvement culture by leveraging opportunities and navigating through organizational structures to eliminate silos. Working closely with cross-functional business units, developing and executing change strategies in order to improve business processes, drive employee engagement, and develop frameworks and methodologies for managing change. And in addition, implementing continuous process improvement initiatives aligned to core objectives. Prior to joining the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, DC, Baraka worked at Amtrak for two years as it’s Director of Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence. His primary role was to drive the full implementation of a process improvement culture across the organization. Leading the execution of cost optimization and continuous process improvement (CPI) / Lean Six Sigma (LSS) initiatives across the enterprise. In addition, establishing the mentoring and coaching program for C-suite LSS champions and practitioners and implementing the structural and cultural changes required to achieve service delivery goals/targets. Baraka holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Smeal College of Business, The Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biology from Goshen College. He is a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Master Black Belt with extensive experience driving business transformation efforts.
