Rob Decker is the Senior Vice President of Planning & Design for the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. Since joining the company in 1999, Rob has worked with the executive team to launch strategic initiatives, improve the guest experience, and generate excitement about the brand while taking the creative lead for development at the eleven Cedar Fair theme parks and water parks, resort hotels and sports complexes. Rob has spent his career creating experiences that appeal to all ages from attractions that are fun, and in some cases terrifying, especially for thrill seekers. With continued investment in broad family experiences Cedar Fair recently reenergized all of their waterpark environments with the addition of thrilling attractions and interesting spaces for families to enjoy. With a love to entertain and create, Rob is often found walking and talking with guests with a sketchbook in hand. Ideation and creation never stops and the theme park is Rob’s perfect laboratory. “When I approach a new project, I prefer to let the guest’s voice lead me to create a better experience, while allowing the market to shape the context for investment. From that perspective, each project presents a unique set of opportunities, and ultimately, it’s all about creating wonderment, a strong sense of place, and fun for all of our guests.”
