As President/GM, Mr. Heeb is responsible for managing all aspects of RDK Management, including worldwide strategic operator relationships, overseeing code management services and working with the RDK community to develop new open source software solutions for video, broadband, IoT and future CE platforms. Steve also serves as Vice President of Licensing & Strategic Development at Comcast, where he manages key Industry strategic technology development and licensing initiatives focusing on business arrangements for new software based network solutions, SoC level software development and video encryption technology. He joined Comcast in 1994 and has held various positions in product and business development. Notably, this included leading a Comcast development group for new products and services on the digital video platform including software development, set top box hardware development, User Interfaces, Video on Demand, High Definition Television, Digital Video Recorders, Interactive Television, and the associated strategic business deals. Prior to Comcast, he worked at Raytheon performing engineering and international business roles associated with multiple technology joint ventures which included extensive travel in Japan and China. Mr. Heeb holds a MBA from Drexel University and a BSEE from The Pennsylvania State University. Has also been involved on a board or in an advisory level capacity with a variety of associations including the Entertainment ID Registry Association (EIDR), the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Emmy Advanced Media Committee, and the Drexel University Lebow College of Business Center for Corporate and Executive Education Advisory Council.
