Military Police Officer
Rick began his self defense studies in 1984, after joining the United States Army, where he served honorably as a Military Police Officer. Rick is a certified black belt in 5 different forms of martial arts, and was nominated for the 1999 International Black Belt Hall of Fame induction ceremony. He is a 3-time world champion in full contact stick fighting, and has appeared in numerous martial arts books and magazines. He developed the ARES Self Defense program to address the issues concerning first responders and health care workers as it relates to the threat or the potentiality of violence in the workplace? specifically the psychological, biological and emotional aspects of violence, as well as, the legal aftermath associated with self defense
