Samantha Urban is an executive and hospitality consultant with hands-on experience collaborating with the largest resorts in the world. Samantha is the CEO and founder of Urban Translations, the leading provider of an in-room digital concierge platform for casinos, resorts, and hotels. Urban Translations’ flagship product builds relationships with guests and staff by enabling orders for menu items & amenities to be placed on mobile devices with the touch of a finger, in any language. Through her experience leading Urban Translations, Samantha has solved many challenges facing the hospitality industry. She uses her experience to better serve her clients, which include several casinos, such as Treasure Island Vegas and the Indian gaming casino Foxwoods Resort. Samantha is also sought after in the tech world, speaking at Sony and various universities regularly. She started her career as a Software Engineer and a Patent Examiner for Graphical User Interfaces. She then moved into project management for the third largest social network, myYearbook.com. When that company was bought for $100M and went through an IPO, she transitioned to managing a digital ad agency, working directly with Facebook. After the sale of that agency, Samantha then focused all her energy on Urban Translations. Throughout her journey, Samantha has always been passionate about the hospitality industry, which is one reason why Urban Translations was hand-selected to be on a trade mission to Brazil with the Governor of Pennsylvania. While there, she consulted with major hotels including the JW Marriott in Rio de Janeiro to better prepare for the World Cup and Olympics. Currently headquartered in San Diego, Samantha advises many hospitality groups, technology companies and always finds time to inspire young, women engineers.
