Carl Schinner




Carl Schinner currently serves as the chief of police in La Plata, Maryland, a distant suburb of Washington, DC. For the first 26 years of Chief Schinner’s career, he served at the Greenbelt (MD) Police Department and retired at the rank of captain. The City of Greenbelt is situated 12 miles from Washington, DC, and 26 miles from Baltimore, MD. During his law enforcement career Chief Schinner conducted numerous drug and narcotics investigations involving the sales and distribution of heroin, cocaine, phencyclidine (PCP), Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), marihuana and prescription medication. Chief Schinner has instructed classes on drug recognition to law enforcement, community, non-profits, union trainers and management and faith-based groups.
