Ron is a retail “lifer”, staring as a teenager in his parent’s hardware store in rural Michigan. His educational background including degrees in Business Administration and Computer Science. During the early part of Ron's career, he worked with leading management consulting groups, Ernst & Young and Deloitte Consulting where he led technology programs for large retailers. He worked with major North American retailers in the grocery, chain drug, and specialty space. This work included post-merger integration work and major retail technology application implementations. His approach is that of business value driven technology enablement. As his first job outside of consulting, Ron moved to The Walt Disney Company in their specialty retail line of business - Disney Store. He led their technology strategy and team during and transitioned into the lead role for their retail ecommerce business. His work at Disney straddled business and technology focusing on projects in the efficiency area – supply chain, merchandise planning, promotion planning and business intelligence as well as customer-facing technology, including refreshed websites, consumer shopping app, and digital marketing. Eighteen months ago Ron joined Gelson’s Markets to lead their Technology team. Ron continues to focus on delivering value in technology capabilities, driving efficiency into the business and applying technology to drive sales and customer service.
