Mr. Blansitt has served as the Montgomery County Maryland Inspector General since April 2011. He retired in April 2010 from the position of Deputy Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he had also served as Assistant Inspector General for Investigations. His prior service included Senior Executive positions of Budget Division Director, Assistant Inspector General for Audits, and Acting Deputy Inspector General with the National Science Foundation, as well as professional positions with three other federal agencies. He has an M.B.A. from George Mason University, and is a C.P.A. and C.G.F.M.
