Erik Becker, IFC’s manager, Infrastructure and Natural Resources, Middle East and North Africa, is based in Dubai. Erik has spent almost all of his 16-year career in infrastructure finance, half of which working on the Middle East. After joining IFC in Washington, DC, Erik worked across regions and infrastructure sub-sectors, with extended stints in Nairobi, Dubai and, most recently, Hong Kong where he led IFC’s efforts in the power sector in East Asia and the Pacific. Erik holds a master’s degree in Energy Systems Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin and an MBA from INSEAD. Prior to joining the IFC, Erik worked for EnBW one of Europe’s largest electricity utility companies where he executed large scale acquisition transactions in Western and Eastern Europe.
