Hugh Hoagland, e-Hazard and ArcWear, is a consultant on clothing, PPE and the electric arc. His formal training is in chemistry at the University of Louisville. KY. After working as a organic chemist, Hugh worked since 1994 in arc flash testing and electrical safety training. His companies train over 20,000 workers annually and have over 1500 trainers qualified to use their training materials on electrical safety. ArcWear does the majority of arc flash testing and tests to many standards for flame and thermal protection. Hugh is an active standards taskgroup chair on ASTM and IEC has sat on IEEE, NFPA and CSA committees as an expert.
