Wendy Gamber
Dr. Gamber is Robert F. Byrnes Professor and History Department Chair at Indiana University. She is the author of three books, The Female Economy: The Millinery and Dressmaking Trades, 1860-1930, The Boardinghouse in Nineteenth-Century America, and, most recently, The Notorious Mrs. Clem: Murder and Money in the Gilded Age (2016), which was selected as an Editor’s Choice by The New York Times Book Review. She is currently at work on two projects: a study of the infamous Donner Party and a book on the history of household hazards.
