Judge Christopher (Chris) Sprague is an Administrative Judge with the United States Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) in Atlanta, Georgia. The MSPB is a quasi-judicial Federal agency whose mission is to protect the Merit Systems Principles and promote an effective Federal workforce free of Prohibited Personnel Practices. Prior to his appointment to the MSPB, Judge Sprague served as Assistant General Counsel with the Department of Defense at the Pentagon, litigating an array of subject areas with an emphasis on labor and employment disputes. Upon his departure from the Department of Defense, Judge Sprague was awarded the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service. Judge Sprague received his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Judge Sprague attended Nova on a full academic scholarship, was selected Editor-in-Chief of the Nova Law Review, and was awarded first place in the Upper-Class Moot Court Competition. Judge Sprague graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Judge Sprague also serves on the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and coaches the Mock Trial Team at Walton High School.
