Michael Culhane is a consultant to the dairy industry based in Monroe Wisconsin. His company which he started in 2005 provides multi-disciplinary business development, research and technical information services. He worked previously with Glanbia USA for fifteen years in roles that included executive vice president, president and director of the company’s food ingredient division. At Glanbia he managed business through several stages of expansion for commodity and specialty dairy products including commercial development of the first microfiltered whey protein isolate (WPI). He has worked extensively in dairy business development combining wide experience of US and international milk markets with technical expertise in processing technology and dairy regulation. Michael has served on industry boards and expert work groups and is a member of the Steering Committee of 3-A Sanitary Standards Inc. He received his B.Sc. in Agricultural and Food Chemistry and Ph.D. in Nutrition at University College Dublin.
