Curtis Parks, a family entertainment and attraction veteran, is a managing partner and serves as chief operating officer of Icon Attractions, LLC (ICON). ICON operates the Capital Wheel, the Carousel, and the Flight Deck at National Harbor near Washington, D.C., the Carousel and the Train at the Rio Washingtonian Center in Washington, D.C., and Hawaiian Falls Waterparks, a group of five waterparks in North and Central Texas. Mr. Parks previously served as chief operating officer and executive vice president with PARC Management. Mr. Parks was part of the company’s founding management team, helping launch the company from seven to 25 properties within an 18-month period. Formerly, Mr. Parks worked at Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resorts where he held the position of vice president of operations. During his tenure, Parks worked closely with owners to successfully complete the development of Schlitterbahn Galveston, a partnership property between Schlitterbahn and American National Insurance Company. Prior to his time at Schlitterbahn, Mr. Parks served as general manager of Wannado City, America’s first real play theme park for children. Previously, Mr. Parks was general manager of Wet ‘n Wild Las Vegas, a Palace Entertainment property. In addition, Mr. Parks served as director of compliance for Alfa SmartParks, Inc. where he helped develop and successfully implement a standard operating platform for the group’s nine entertainment facilities. Mr. Parks served as general manager for Wild Waters Waterpark in Silver Springs, Florida and the Florida resort of Weeki Wachee Springs, Buccaneer Bay, and Holiday Inn in Spring Hill, Florida. Mr. Parks is an active member of IAAPA, WWA (World Waterpark Association), and has served as a national faculty member of the Jeff Ellis and Associates National Aquatic Safety School.
