Chief Dan Eggleston is an accomplished fire service professional with a career spanning over four decades. Currently serving as the career Fire Rescue Chief at the Albemarle County Department of Fire Rescue, Chief Eggleston brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to his role. He holds an AAS Degree in Engineering, a BS degree in Business, and an MS degree in Emergency Management from the University of Richmond. Chief Eggleston's commitment to professional growth is evident through his completion of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program and his attainment of the Chief Fire Officer Designation (CFO) and Chief Medical Officer Designation (CMO) from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International. Notably, Chief Eggleston has played a pivotal role in shaping the fire service community. He has served as the Past President and Chairman of the Board for the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and currently serves as a Board member for the National Association of Counties. Chief Eggleston's contributions extend beyond his operational duties, as he has authored numerous articles and research papers on fire and EMS administration, as well as emergency management. With a reputation for excellence, Chief Eggleston has also delivered lectures and provided consultations worldwide, further solidifying his standing as a respected leader in the field."
