Rick Nelson Tile and Water Proofing Installation Trainer National Pool Tile POOLCORP Rick began in the tile industry in 1977, working for Action Tile & Coping as an apprentice. He spent 12 years expanding his knowledge of installation as well as becoming licensed by the California State Contractors Board. He started A&G Tile in 1989 where he did interior home and commercial installations learning another aspect of the industry. In 1997 he began working for Cozad & O’Hara of Cathedral City, CA and three years later he purchased the company and in 2004 he sold the company to Pentair. In 2006 NPT was acquired by POOLCORP and Rick began as a building materials specialist and is now their in-house expert on Tile and Water Proofing Installation. Rick was the Chair of the Tile & Stone Authority, an organization of experts representing decades of hands-on experience with pool tile and coping. He has taught classes at the International Pool & Tile Show on Installation of Pool Tile & Coping. He teaches hands on classes throughout the United States on Pool Tile Installation, Water Proofing, and Pool Finish Installation Techniques. Throughout the forty years he has developed business relationships with distributors, clients, industry leaders, and expertise in the industry. He has used the years of experience to provide his clients with valuable information often dealing with high end jobs and customers.
