Ralph Kling
Ralph Kling grew up on a small farm in central California. In 1942, after high school, he joined the Army Air Corps, where he flew 66 missions in his P-47 Thunderbolt, in support of General Patton. He was shot down and held as a POW in Stalag Luft III, before enduring a week of forced march in the snow and riding boxcars. He was liberated April 29, 1945. After the war, he taught and coached high school for 15 years and was an administrator for 15 more, as Principal of a large high school in N. California.
