W. Ann Maggiore, JD, NRP, has been a paramedic/firefighter, an assistant fire chief, and a state EMS administrator before attending law school. Her law practice focuses on the defense of health care providers and law enforcement officers. She has been a licensed paramedic for over 35 years. She is a well -known EMS author and speaker, member of the JEMS editorial board, faculty on the NAEMSP EMS Medical Director’s Course and Practicum, and the recipient of the James O. Page award for EMS leadership in 2012.
