Jamie Potter




Jamie is an 18 year veteran in fire and emergency services. She began as a volunteer in Goochland County (VA) until being hired in the City of Richmond (VA) as a career firefighter. She has spent nine years serving on the Richmond HazMat team where she currently serves as a HazMat specialist. Jamie was the assigned HazMat officer for the City of Richmond’s HazMat team during the International UCI bike race, serving as part of a JHAT team and in the command post. She regularly assisted in training HazMat team members in basic hazmat training to specialized JHAT training during her time as the HazMat officer. Jamie has associate’s degrees in paramedicine and fire science and continues to develop and implement training for the department. She is currently assigned to the training division as a lieutenant.
