While much of intelligence research looks at positive outcomes, Ruth investigates high IQ as being a potential risk factor for various disorders and diseases. She is especially interested in advocating for those with dual exceptionalities in intellectual ability and disability. Her current study, High Cognitive Ability as a Risk Factor for Immune Dysregulation, won the poster prize at the 2015 International Society for Intelligence Research (ISIR) conference. Her BA degrees are in Neuropsychology and English/World Literature from Pitzer College and she is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Educational Clinical Counseling.
