Barbara Schultz
Former Director of Employee Health and Wellness
Valley Health System


Barbara has been in the field of employee health and wellness for over 15 years, working in varied industries such as mining, manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals and corporate locations. In her previous role as Director of Employee Health and Wellness at Valley Health System, she was responsible for managing all work and non-work injuries and illness, wellness initiatives, leave of absence processes, employee population health and safety. She was co-chair of the Valley's Occupational Health and Safety committee along with the Director of Security and Public Safety that oversees all aspects of occupational hazards - real or potential - with a strong concentration and focus on workplace violence incidents. She was a member of Valley's Active Shooter Drill committee, participating in the large annual drills and smaller departmental drills. Her work in these areas resulted in Valley being recognized by the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association of which she is an active member of their Community Leadership Board. In 2017, Valley was recognized for their progressive worker's compensation program and received the prestigious Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt award from Risk and Insurance. She is currently President of Five Palms Consulting LLC. Barbara is married, has a son, loves the beach, gardening and her rescue greyhound.
