John Fulton conducts extension education and research focused on enhancing input stewardship at the farm level. Extension efforts revolve around equipping farmers with contemporary practices and technology to better manage nutrients and pesticides which enhance on-farm environmental stewardship. These efforts deal directly with precision ag technologies including data management and the ability to extract knowledge from ag machinery and crop based data to make smarter decisions. His research program develops and evaluates technology or automated components related to application equipment to more accurately place and meet site-specific crop and soil needs. Fulton earned his Ph.D. in biosystems and agriculture engineering from the University of Kentucky in 2003.
