Dr. Adam Varenhorst obtained his graduate degrees in entomology from Iowa State University. In 2015, he began working for South Dakota State University as the Extension Field Crop Entomologist. His research as SDSU focuses on insect pest management in major field crops including soybean. Much of his recent research has been on evaluating the belowground insect pests present in soybean, and determining conditions that warrant insecticide seed treatment use.
