Jake has been a career firefighter with Chesterfield (VA) Fire and EMS since 2002 and was promoted to lieutenant in 2008. Currently he serves as a captain in the training and education unit where he oversees promotional processes, officer development, ALS and BLS continuing education, and the applied leadership for company officers program. His interest and passion for the topic of leadership began on the athletic field in high school and continued into his college career at the Virginia Military Institute, where he graduated with a degree in economics/business. Jake also earned a master’s in leadership and management from Liberty University.
