Joyce Pittman
Associate Professor
University of South Alabama
Dr. Pittman is an Associate Professor at the University of South Alabama with a research focus on pressure injuries, ostomy-related complications, and evidence-based nursing practice. She serves as a Nurse Scientist at USA Health- University Hospital supporting pressure injury prevention and wound/ostomy nursing practice. Dr. Pittman is a certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence nurse, Adult and Family Nurse Practitioner, nurse researcher, and past National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP) board member. Her most recent work has focused on health and racial disparities especially related to skin color and nursing education. Dr. Pittman has many publications, including both journal articles and book chapters.
