In 2001, Florian Zerhusen founded BayWa r.e. Wind, LLC and serves as its Chief Executive Officer and President. Under his leadership, the company evolved from being a true greenfield developer into a turn-key developer that develops, constructs and operates wind farms across North America. In 2011, he orchestrated the acquisition of the company by international, multi-billion dollar conglomerate BayWa AG. He has advised large international firms in their domestic and international expansion efforts. In executing the company’s current business model, projects are being sold after reaching COD. The company continues to manage the assets sold to various institutions such as Goldman Sachs, Macquarie and other large utilities. By the age of 30, he developed and managed construction of the 63MW Snyder wind farm in 2006, which to this day remains the tallest hub-height project in the US (105m). He was recognized in the 2012 M&A 40Under40 Awards and in Ernst and Young's 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He began his career in Investment Banking, strategically advising growth companies by raising capital or positioning them for M&A. Florian graduated in International Business and Finance in Germany and has served on various boards and advisory councils.
