Michael Gerber, MPH, NRP, is an associate consultant with the RedFlash Group. Prior to that, he served as a paramedic at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase (Md.) Rescue Squad where he started his EMS career as a volunteer in 2001 after moving to the Washington, D.C., area to work as a journalist on Capitol Hill. In 2006, he joined the career fire service as a paramedic with the Alexandria (Va.) Fire Department where he coordinated continuing education classes and supervised training of new recruits before being promoted to supervise the EMS quality improvement efforts.
