David Derda is the General Manager Universal's Volcano Bay Water Theme Park in Orlando Fl. Dave was born in Muskegon MI and attended Western Michigan University where he received a BA in Science. Dave has been with Universal Orlando Resort since 1998 when he was hired on to open Universal's Islands of Adventure as an Attractions Supervisor. Since then he has held many roles within the Operations Division such as the GM, Front of House Operations at the Sharp Aquos Theater, Assistant Director of Operations Projects and Director of Operations, Wet 'n Wild. Throughout his career Dave has been involved in many new project openings such as both Wizarding World of Harry Potter lands, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Transformers: the Ride 3D, and several others. Most recently Dave was part of the opening team of Universal's Volcano Bay Water Theme Park. Dave currently Oversees the Entrance, Aquatics, Park Services and Premium Services departments along with managing the day to day operation of the park.
