Mr. Michael Fitzgerald has more than (17) years of experience coordinating, overseeing and managing a variety of Construction projects within the infrastructure, power systems, transportation and communication fields. Michael is currently the MBTA’s Sr. Project Manager and Program Manager for the $1.6 billion Red Line / Orange Line Improvements Program. For nearly nine (9) years with the MBTA, Michael has also held the positions of Project Manager, Deputy Director of Power and Superintendent of Transmission and Distribution. In addition to his responsibilities of directing a large workforce to maintain and repair the Power Network, Michael also oversaw the implementation of the $200 million Capital Improvement Program for the Power Department. Prior to his arrival at the Authority, Michael was a supervisor within the Power and Network Operations Departments for eight (8) years with Verizon Communications. Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and a Master’s degree in Administrative Studies from Boston College.
