Dr. HK Kang is the Executive Vice President and Head of Research in Samsung Semiconductor R&D Center. He leads research and development for advanced logic and memory process technologies, and also package and software technologies including next generation material and equipment. Prior to his current position, he had led developments of advanced logic and memory process technologies as EVP and leader of process development in SRD since 2015, and as SVP and team leader since 2010. He was also responsible for System LSI Process Architecture Team and Advanced Technology Development as VP since 2003. Since joining Samsung Electronics in 1985, Dr. Kang has played an active role for developing advanced logic and memory process technologies and he has authored or co-authored over 80 international papers and holds 8 U.S. patents. He received his B.S. degree in Material Engineering from Hanyang University in 1983, and his M.S. degree from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) in 1985. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Material Engineering from Stanford University in 1993.
