Randy L. Brown was appointed to the management staff of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on August 22, 1988. On September 1, 1990, he was named the General Manager of the Memorial Coliseum and has served in that capacity to the present date. In addition to his day to day management responsibilities, he was active in the preparations for the opening of the Exposition Center, supervised the design and construction of Memorial Stadium and the renovation and expansion of the Coliseum Arena, Exposition Center and the design and construction of the new Conference Center. He was previously employed for six years as Auditorium Manager and Conference Director for the O'Laughlin Auditorium of Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana. For the four years prior to his position at Saint Mary's, Mr. Brown managed two theatrical facilities with the title of Technical Assistant to the Chairman, Division of Music, Indiana University at South Bend. He holds the Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, and was awarded the Master of Public Affairs degree from Indiana University. In 1995, Brown was awarded the designation of Certified Venue Executive (CVE). He has been a member of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) since 1982, and served as the Chairman of the Board. Brown has served as the Director at Large for Arenas, on the Association’s Executive Committee, on the Board of Education the Arenas Committee, on the Leadership Development Committee and as the Vice President of Region II representing facility managers in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia and Ontario. Currently, he is on the Boards of Visit Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, is a Past-President of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo and is a Past-President of the Northeast Indiana Chapter of the Indiana University Alumni Association. He is married, the father of two children and is a grandfather in training.
