Illonka (Javette) Hines is Senior Vice President, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability at Citi. The Supplier Diversity and Sustainability department resides within Enterprise Supply Chain. Javette leads Citi’s efforts to ensure the consideration and inclusion of diverse firms within Citi’s sourcing practices. Additionally, she is responsible for working across the firm with sourcing and business units to align supplier selection efforts with Citi’s 10 year $100B Climate initiative and 5 year Sustainability Strategy. Javette has over 20 years of experience in procurement, diversity, contracts, and management. Prior to joining Citi, Javette worked at International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) where her responsibilities included recruitment of supply chain talent, management of US and global sourcing activities, strategic planning, and software & technical services sourcing. Javette is passionate about her work in the supply chain, in particular efforts which allow her to develop capacity among MWBEs. The opportunity to mentor students currently in the supply chain area or with legal backgrounds who contemplate different ways to use their legal experience is equally important to her. Javette holds a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education from Clark Atlanta University, and a Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest University School of Law. Javette is an accomplished speaker and speaks often on the topic of supply chain sustainability and MWBE diversity and business development. She is a member of the New York and GA State Bar Associations, former member, NY State Bar Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, and represents Citi on several Boards.
