Mr. Fleischman received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. He worked nearly 7 years for TRW (now Northrop Grumman) on heat pipe technology for cooling electronics and spacecraft thermal control. He worked at Hughes Aircraft (now Boeing) 24 years on heat pipes for satellite thermal control. While at Hughes George was the principal investigator or co-investigator for a total of four 0-g experiments flown on the space shuttle. He is the principal author or co-author of nineteen technical papers on heat pipe technology, and co-inventor of five heat pipe patents. He received a certificate of recognition from NASA for the creative development of technology in 1978. George retired in 2010 after working 10 years for Raytheon in El Segundo.
