Susan L. Koen, Ph.D. is an organizational psychologist and the CEO & Founder of RoundTheClock Resources, Inc. She now serves as the Practice Leader for the Brain-Centric Reliability(tm) System Practice at DEKRA Insight, the world leader in powering operational safety and performance reliability in multi-shift operations. Dr. Koen is an internationally-recognized expert on: the neuroscience of human errors and human performance reliability; real-time human fatigue risk assessments; designing and implementing fatigue risk mitigation systems (FRMS); strategic staffing and scheduling in 24/7 and extended-day operations; high-performance work systems; and workforce asset management. For 33 years, Dr. Koen has consulted in the energy, manufacturing, mining and utility industries throughout North America and in nations as diverse as Colombia, Israel and China. Dr. Koen graduated summa cum laude with a BA from The University of Texas at Austin, where she also received her MS in Policy Design and Systems Change. She received her doctorate in organizational psychology from the accredited Union of Experimenting Colleges and Universities (now The Union Institute) in affiliation with Boston University.
