Cory is the Vice President, Government Relations at the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA), joining the industry in February 2017. At IBWA, Cory oversees all lobbying and political engagement activities for the industry. Before joining IBWA, Cory worked for the American Bakers Association as their Director of Government Relations. While at ABA, Cory led Congressional lobbying efforts, as well as organized annual fly-ins and several other industry outreach activities. Before ABA, Cory served as the Executive Director for the Utah Association of Mortgage Brokers (UAMB), overseeing all aspects of the association’s programming and legislative activities. Cory has previously worked for the CP80 Foundation as the Director of Political Affairs, organizing grassroots and fundraising efforts; and Sego Strategies, LLC., a Salt Lake City based political affairs firm, serving as a political analyst and lobbyist for numerous public and private organizations. Cory is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Political Management, receiving a Masters in Legislative Affairs, and received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. Cory is also a founding member and past President of the Brigham Young University Political Affairs Society, a university-sponsored alumni society serving those working in and with government. In his free time, Cory coaches youth sports, including football, baseball and basketball, and is involved in other local community activities. Cory also owns and runs a youth flag football league, the Northern Virginia Flag Football League, LLC. Cory and his wife Janna live in Alexandria, VA, with their four children.
