Hoo Tjhiang (HT) Han has been a part of the international tobacco industry for more than 25 years. He is the Director of Tax and Legal Compliance at Kretek International and Phillips & King International, where he has been for more than 11 years. His department engages in monitoring changes in tobacco regulations at all levels that affect their business, and oversees tax and regulatory reporting in all 50 states. He recently expanded his role into business intelligence and analytics. Prior to joining Kretek, Hoo Tjhiang was with the Indonesia-based Djarum Group for 15 years, engaging in many areas of the group businesses related to tobacco and other consumer products. For the last seven years with Djarum, he served as the US Legal Compliance Officer.
