A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Nathan Benson, enjoyed a varied safety career prior to relocating to Savannah from Tennessee in 2015. A Sergeant in the Tennessee Army National Guard, Nathan was a Cavalry Scout during Operation Iraqi Freedom III and was in the radiation measurement and monitoring industry when “off duty.” In addition to his work with the National Safety Council, Nathan served on the Oliver Springs Planning Commission from 2012-2015, is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Savannah, and served as the 2016 and 2017 Chatham County United Way Campaign Cabinet member. Nathan has a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health, has a certificate in industrial hygiene, and was honored by the National Safety Council as a “Rising Star of Safety” in 2015.
