Corey Slovis, MD, FACP, FACEP, FAAEM, is medical director of the Nashville Fire Department (NFD), the NFD Paramedic/EMS Bureau and the Nashville International Airport. He is also a professor of emergency medicine and chairman of the department of emergency medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He completed residencies in internal medicine and emergency medicine at Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. He spent 15 years at Grady Hospital and served as its director of EMS and as the fire surgeon for the city of Atlanta.
